About the Author
Pedro Algorta was born in Montevideo in 1951 and is one of the sixteen survivors of the Uruguayan plane that crashed in the Andes in 1972. After the accident, he lived in Buenos Aires where he graduated with a degree in Economic Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires, and then went on to get an MBA from Stanford University. He has had a successful business career as an executive at various companies: Techint, Quilmes and Peñaflor, among others. He is married and has three children and two grandchildren.
